Virginia Beach, VA Event

The Virginia Beach Neptune Festival has an annual series of events that has become a yearly tradition for Virginia and the East Coast. Best of all, its location on the boardwalk is less than two blocks away from the Sundial Inn! If you’ll be staying in September, be sure to check out their schedule of events and see if anything catches your eye.
Highlights include a Volleyball Tournament and a breakfast to honor the local heroes of Virginia Beach—defenders of our community and country alike. The International Sandsculpting Championship, which will continue into October, also begins.
You can check out some of the other events just by taking a walk down the boardwalk: everything from paintings to sculpture and glasswork will be available for free viewing. On Saturday evening, stay outside on the beachfront for a view of the festival’s own fireworks extravaganza!
Earlier that afternoon, the Festival’s other big event will be taking place along a 16-block route down Atlantic Avenue: keep an eye out for the Grand Parade from 11:30 to 1:00! Huge balloons, colorful floats and a few marching bands will each make an appearance. The parade is large enough to be seen from anywhere, although those closest to it will have a better chance at grabbing the fun beads and other items tossed to the crowd.
Live music is also an integral part of the festival: four stages will be hosting a variety of different acts, from country to alternative rock.
Stay at Sundial Inn during the Neptune Festival. View our accommodations here!
