There is a bicycle trail next to the boardwalk that stretches for three miles, making it a relatively easy and flat ride.
After a refreshing start, you’re heading off to soak up some culture at the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art. With changing exhibits, the museum offers unique pieces of art and perspectives that anyone can appreciate. If you’re feeling crafty, you may want to check out the one-day workshops offered at the museum to show off your own artistic ability and connect with your partner.
After enjoying the contemporary art, you’ll be dining at Zest and trying their modern and zesty cocktails! This eco-friendly restaurant and bar is the perfect spot to get cozy and enjoy amazing entrees together.
This evening, you and your partner are off to the theater! Visit the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts to take in a musical or enjoy the sounds of the orchestra. The center boasts an impressive lineup of performances, plays, and music festivals.
There’s nothing more romantic than being on the beach with your sweetheart, but riding on the beach on horseback is another fun way to experience this romantic activity. Virginia Beach Horseback offers beach rides from fall to spring as well as the festival of lights horseback ride.
In the afternoon, head over to Pleasure House Brewing where they’re passionate about making great beer and serving the Virginia Beach community. Try their brews and enjoy some foosball or darts with your partner.
For dinner, you’re off to the Isle of Capri for fine Italian dining. The food and oceanfront views make this restaurant a great romantic choice in Virginia Beach, as well as their impressive wine list with more than 250 selections.
Tonight you’re going old-school and pretending to be teenagers at the Virginia Beach Amusement Park! Hold hands as you find the perfect thrill ride or attraction, maybe start slow with the 100 ft. Ferris Wheel, or swing into the action on the Sea Dragon Swinging Ship, or if you’re really daring, the sling shot ride! For the amusing side, they also host a variety of theme park and carnival games if you want to win a prize for your sweetheart.
On your last day in paradise, soak up as much sun and relaxation as you can by returning to the beach. Or, plan for a rejuvenating couples massage.
End your vacation with a high seas adventure! Well, kind of. You’ll enjoy a sunset kayak tour to get another breathtaking view of our gorgeous Virginia sunsets. The tours runs 2 – 3 hours and are kept small, at four kayaks to one instructor.
Finally, round out your romantic getaway by indulging your sweet tooth at the Royal Chocolate. Peruse the gourmet caramels and chocolates or purchase chocolate covered strawberries to enjoy on the walk back to Sundial Inn.
